  6.           INTRODUCTION
  7.           --------------------

  9.           The drivers enclosed in this archive are designed to run with
  10.           Microsoft Windows 3.1 and ATI MACH32 cards. 
  11.           
  12.           The supplied drivers are for windows ONLY! 
  13.  
  14.           It is important that Windows be previously loaded and your
  15.           card configured using the INSTALL program from your existing
  16.           ATI Disk1, or in your MACH32 directory.
  17.  
  18.           This is a Offical Release, 1.5(59) and add's additional features
  19.           within the FLEXDESK panel including Crystal Fonts and additional
  20.           24 bit drivers.

  23.         INSTALLATION
  24.         -----------------
  25.  
  26.           Run the INSTALL.BAT batch file specifying the path to your
  27.           Windows directory.
  28.  
  29.              Example:
  30.  
  31.              INSTALL C:\WINDOWS <enter>
  32.  
  33.           The INSTALL.BAT file will search your Windows directories for
  34.           existing ATI Mach 32 drivers and prompt you to Overwrite as
  35.           required. Once  the files are on your hard disk we can proceed
  36.           to instruct windows to use them.

  39.          GETTING THE DRIVERS INTO WINDOWS
  40.          --------------------------------------------------
  41.  
  42.              The following procedure MUST be executed outside of Windows and
  43.              CANNOT be accomplished through a DOS box. 
  44.           
  45.           1) Change to your Windows directory. DO NOT RUN WINDOWS.
  46.  
  47.              Example: CD \WINDOWS
  48.  
  49.              NOTE: If your Windows directory is not C:\WINDOWS, then specify
  50.                         that path you are using (ie. C:\WIN31)
  51.  
  52.           2) Run SETUP.
  53.  
  54.           3) Highlight DISPLAY on the SETUP menu using the cursor keys and
  55.           press ENTER.
  56.  
  57.           4) Using the down arrow key, look through the list of available
  58.           drivers. There should be only one driver. ATI mach32 driver 
  59.           (Both the Crystal Font and MACH32 drivers are now integrated into
  60.            the ATI mach32 driver)
  61.  
  62.           5) Highlight the ATI mach32 driver and Press ENTER. 
  63.  
  64.           6) Press ENTER. 
  65.               ("ACCEPT THE CONFIGURATION AS SHOWN ABOVE" should be
  66.                highlighted)
  67.  
  68.           7) At this point, Setup may ask one of two things:
  69.  
  70.              a) SETUP is asking for a Microsoft Windows disk.
  71.                 -> Insert the diskette(s) SETUP asks for. Once all
  72.                    necessary files are copied, SETUP will exit to
  73.                    DOS.
  74.  
  75.              b) SETUP will ask whether to keep or replace the current
  76.                 driver
  77.                 -> Press ENTER to keep the current driver. Setup may
  78.                    then ask for Windows diskettes. Insert the diskette(s)
  79.                    SETUP asks for. Once the necessary files are copied,
  80.                    SETUP will drop to DOS.
  81.  
  82.                NOTE: If SETUP asks for a Windows disk, be sure to enter
  83.                in the input box, the drive in which you have inserted the
  84.                disk.

  86.           Using the MACH32 Utilities
  87.           -------------------------------
  88.  
  89.           1) Run Windows.
  90.  
  91.            Windows will normally come up at 640 x 480.
  92.  
  93.           2) Locate the MACH32 GROUP, and Double-Click on the README ICON
  94.              
  95.               Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with this
  96.               file, it contains a lot of information, that may save you a
  97.               phone call.
  98.  
  99.           3) Click on the FLEXDESK ICON, and select the Help button for
  100.              information the panel's usage.
  101.  
  102.           In some case's the initial display may not show the Mach32 Group.
  103.           It may be hidden just off the PROGRAM MANAGER's viewing area.
  104.           Scrolling across will normally bring it into view.

  108.           If still unable to find the Mach32 group:
  109.           -------------------------------------------------

  111.           1) From the Program Manager menu bar, select FILE and then RUN
  112.  
  113.           2) Enter File name as C:\WINDOWS\M32PANEL.EXE 
  114.                                            (or applicable Windows Directory)
  115.  
  116.               The Flexdesk panel should now be visible.
  117.  
  118.           3) Click on the HELP button for information on the FLEXDESK
  119.              Control Panels usage
  120.  
  121.           4) Use Windows! The driver and it's utilities are now installed!
  122.
